Denton Personal Injury Lawyers

The city of Denton serves as the county seat of Denton County in the state of Texas, the United States. It is projected to have a population of 139,869 residents by the year 2020, making it the 27th most populated city in the state of Texas and the 12th most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The city is located in the Northeast Texas area, and its neighbors to the south include Lewisville and Frisco; to the west, The Colony; to the north, Hickory Creek and Fort Worth; and to the east, North Richland Hills.
Due to a Texas land grant, Denton County was made in 1846, and the city of Denton was started the next year, in 1866. Both are named after a pioneer named John B. Denton, who was a captain in the Texas militia. When the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University were built in 1890 and 1901, respectively, they made the city stand out from the places around it. When a railroad came to the city in 1881, it helped the number of people living there grow. In 1974, when Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport opened, the city grew more quickly than it had before. Based on what the U.S. Census Bureau, Denton was the seventh city in the U.S. that grew the fastest.
I-35E and I-35W, which divide in Hillsboro south of the Metroplex and go north via Dallas and Fort Worth, respectively, reunite near the campus of the University of North Texas in the southwest portion of Denton to create Interstate 35, which continues north toward Oklahoma. In addition to U.S. 62 and U.S. 81, U.S. 287 and U.S. 81 are also important roads that pass through the city.
Even though Denton only has a little more than 100,000 people living there, its location right at the split in Interstate 35 means that a lot of the 7.5 million people who live in the Metroplex pass through it on their way to and from work. On the 2021 Global Traffic Scorecard, the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area was ranked #37 for having the worst traffic. All cars going south on I-35 had to go through Denton to get to the rest of the metroplex. Because of this, drivers in Denton spend an average of 39 hours stuck in traffic every year. In the Metroplex as a whole, traffic was 17% worse on average in 2021.

A city’s traffic conditions are the result of a multitude of factors, some of which include individual driving patterns and the infrastructure of a city. One of the most crowded segments of roadway in the state of Texas is route 380, often known as University Drive in the city of Denton. Because it serves not just as a key east-west highway for the state but also for local traffic in Denton, it is often congested both during the week and on the weekends. People who are trying to circumvent the traffic on Interstate 35 by taking Denton’s State Highway 77 as a detour are making the already bad situation on State Highway 380 much worse. As a result, the traffic at the intersection of State Highways 380 and 77 is virtually always backed up.
Even though Denton is close to a lot of big cities, its accident rate has been about average for a city its size over the past five years, fluctuating between about 3,200 and 3,900 accidents per year. The Traffic Expert and the City Council member tried to explain that they were working on a plan to get rid of the traffic jams. In the meantime, they suggested that commuters use Interstate 35 instead of State Highway 380, which is known to be less busy. When accidents happen, people can get hurt in ways that hurt and change the way they look. With the help of a car accident lawyer, the insurance company will be taken care of and you will get the best settlement possible to help you.
Whether you were the victim of a vehicle accident or were engaged in one yourself, our car accident lawyers are able to assist you by conducting an investigation into your loss and providing you with consultation services. Denton Personal Injury Lawsuit Steps And Processes

Collect All Available Evidence

Every case rests on the backs of investigators who dig deep. We’ll investigate your accident and find evidence like police reports, hospital records, and witness statements. Our injury attorneys go deep into each potential avenue of inquiry, leaving no stone unturned in their exhaustive search for justice.

Write a Letter of Demand

A demand letter will be addressed to the offender and their insurance provider or legal counsel. The full financial burden is considered, including future medical expenditures, wage losses, and other expenses.

Negotiation

By bringing a lawsuit on your behalf, we acquire bargaining power when an insurance company refuses to give fair compensation. In addition, by filing a case, we can obtain information on the defendants we would not have had access to before.

Begin Filing a Lawsuit for Injury

By bringing a lawsuit on your behalf, we acquire bargaining power when an insurance company refuses to give fair compensation. In addition, by filing a case, we can obtain information on the defendants we would not have had access to before.

Discovery

Now that we have filed suit, we have the right to obtain information from the defendants that they were previously unwilling to release. By serving them with Requests for Admissions, Interrogatories, and Document Production, we can investigate the validity of their allegations.

Mediation

Once both parties have reviewed the facts of the case, a mediation session may be planned to see whether or not an amicable resolution may be reached. The defense will hear our position from a non-biased individual (Mediator), and we may continue bargaining with the insurance company over a reasonable payment.

Civil Trial for Injury

We will go to trial if a reasonable settlement cannot be reached. We’ll argue your case in court, using the information found through discovery and any necessary expert testimony. Many of us would rather have a jury decide our cases than a judge, as juries tend to be more compassionate in times of tragedy.

Settlement

A settlement has been reached if an agreement can be made before trial. In return for release of all personal injury claims, you should get a settlement that accounts for all your losses up to and including the date of your injury, fees, taxable cost, medical expenditures, lost wages, pain and suffering, etc.

Appeal

Suppose the jury decides against you. We will then file an appeal if we believe the defense or the court made a legal mistake. Additional data and legal arguments on our part will likely be required to convince the court of our position. The court, if we prevail, may decide to overturn its earlier ruling or even retry the case.

Response To Some General Questions

If I Lose, Will I Be Responsible For Any Case-related Costs?

In personal injury cases, many law firms operate on a contingency fee basis. This means that you will only be responsible for legal fees and case-related costs if your case is successful and you receive a settlement or award. In the event that your case is not successful, you typically will not be required to pay your attorney’s fees or cover the expenses incurred during the litigation process. It is important to discuss fee structures and any potential financial obligations with your Dallas personal injury attorney before proceeding with your case.
