Dallas, TX – February 17, 2025 – A fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer and multiple vehicles led to a temporary shutdown of Interstate 20 in the Dallas area early Sunday morning, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred when a tractor-trailer fell off an interstate highway ramp, crashing onto the ground below before catching fire, said Dallas Fire-Rescue Department spokesperson Jason Evans.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, when the tractor-trailer struck the ground, it hit another truck, killing its driver. No other fatalities have been confirmed at this time.
Emergency crews were already responding to the scene when Dallas firefighters were notified at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, and officials have not released further details.
Authorities have yet to identify the driver who was killed in the collision.
