GRAPEVINE, Texas — March 21, 2025
A fatal crash early Friday morning led to a full closure of State Highway 121 near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, according to Grapevine police.
The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Stone Myers Parkway. Police say a sedan traveling northbound struck a guardrail and flipped over the highway barrier, landing in the southbound lanes.
Two vehicles heading southbound then collided with the overturned car. The driver of the flipped vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
One of the other drivers involved was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The third driver was not hurt.
Authorities shut down the highway in both directions at Stone Myers Parkway while emergency crews responded to the scene. As of the 6 a.m. hour, the scene remained active.
Grapevine police are asking anyone who may have video footage of the crash to contact investigators at cidmail@grapevinetexas.gov.
